So - Mumbai... It's horrible! There's this really odd mix of high-tech offices right smack bang in the middle of slums. The streets are unbelievably filthy with trash and crud everywhere, people drive like maniacs and it hot, wet and fly riddled.
Apart from that it's great, although you can't trust the water.
The hotel's pretty impressive for several reasons:
That's the entrance foyer. It's utterly massive. It also leaks! There's little puddles everywhere where the rain's coming in through the roof.

My room. Very comfortable, and also very large. Apparently this is the cheapest good hotel in the area. The others are better looking. So, quite high standards. The food's nice too.
However, this is the view from my room :

Yep - that's a shanty-town/slum/whatever. There's a massive one of these overlooking the airport, so it's one of the first things to greet you as you land.
It's a very odd place - there's obviously wealth here, but it's also obvious that the wealth is extremely concentrated. While being driven to the office today we went past rows and rows of what can only be described as tin shacks, while in amoungst them there were clean shops and offices. And I mean right in amoungst them - you would walk out of one of these offices into a road that was covered with trash, sewerage and people selling fruit from shacks.
Something's defintely broken with this place.
