No sleep 'til Brooklyn
Blergh, that didn't go as planned.
I got to sleep around 3am and woke at 6am and again at 7. Gave up at 7:30.
So it looks like I've got delayed jet lag. Nice one!
Not one to miss an opportunity to post a picture, here's one of that shrine at last :

Actually, I think the shrine itself is behind me on this one. There is an area where the Japanese were going to stand and clap 2 or 3 times sharply. Seems a lot easier than Roman Catholicism, but maybe I'm missing something.
There's also several areas in here where you can get wishes or prayers granted. One of them is a building where you can buy a wooden plaque that you can write a desire or wish, and the people at the shrine will pray for all of these every day. There's millions of them. There's another bit where you can buy a strip of paper that seems to have some sort of fortune on it. If you like the fortune I think you're supposed to hang it on a bamboo plant outside that building above, if you don't like it, you tie it in a knot. That's what I remember from the guidebook anyway! I saw very little written English information around this area, so I'll have to believe the guide book I brought with me.
Oh, and here's the chef cooki
ng my beef!
It's a bit blurry because I didn't want to use flash, besides, that gives it the arty 'action' look doesn't it?
Cripes, I've caught up on my pictures. Feels like I've done my homework at last.
Don't know if I'll be getting more pics today - I'm SO tired that I doubt I'll last the day.
Oh, excellent; someone's just started hammering in the room below!
