Monday

What a day.
I got up and had breakfast at 8 with the others after having been awake since before 4. Theran also woke at 4am, so it wasn't just me that looked like death this morning.
Jay (from the Chicago office) was fine, despite having gotten into the hotel a while past midnight.

Breakfast's an odd thing in this hotel : thers's the usual fruit, scrambled egg and bacon, cereals and pancakes that you get in most US hotels...but this one also does a Japanese breakfast.
Now - I gamely went up to have some, but I couldn't get the lid off what I presume is the rice cooker, and also couldn't quite decide if one of the dishes was chili, or seaweed. So I left it all alone and had scrambled egg, pancakes and fruit.

Now -we got to the office thanks to the lovely lady in the little GPS unit we have rented...but the trainer didn't. He was delayed at the airport until nearly 11am. Once we started the course, I looked like this :

Can you see me fighting sleep? Can you?

The course finished at around 5, without Theran or myself embarassing ourselves by nodding off (well, not too obviously!) and we went to a restaurant. It's an Italian place in San Jose, in a hotel. The building and decor is very nice indeed and the food was good, although I don't think it was as amazing as their menu seemed to suggest. The staff were a bit stand-offish though. I suspect it was because there were many people about who were much better dressed than the 14 IT staff from Macrovision at our table.

Theran, once again, sat at the end of the table and tried to fight off sleep.

Here's what I had :

Calimari with some sort of sauce. I suspect this would be about 2 points per mouthful as it was deep fried.

Bruscetta, With Mozzerella, egg plant and tomato. Nice, but again, many points on account of the cheeze.

Lobster Ind crab meat ravioli. No many points (Yay!) but I think it could have done with more flavour. I' d have added more white wine to the sauce myself.

After that little lot, I had to drive back to the hotel. Theran barely talked on the way back, he said he was really having to fight to stay awake. I told him that I was also, which seemed to wake him up a bit.

Right - it's gone 10pm here, which means it's past 6am according to my body clock...so I'd better submit this and go to sleep! NN all.
